Between the Alps and the Adriatic
A winegrowing paradise
The Vipava Valley is one of Slovenia's most recognised wine regions. Its special position between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea creates unique conditions, as here the Mediterranean and continental climates intertwine. The characteristic Vipava bora wind, sunny days and cool nights allow the grapes to ripen gradually while preserving their aromatic complexity.
Winegrowing has deep roots here and represents an important part of the local identity. Generations of winegrowers carefully tend the vineyards on the valley's slopes, where diverse soils — from marl and sand to mineral-rich gravel — give the wines a distinctive minerality and character.
Good wines are born in close contact with nature.
The region yields both native and international varieties; among the local ones, Zelen, Pinela, Malvasia and Rebula stand out. Winemaking here is based on a close bond with nature, hand work in the vineyard and respect for tradition, enhanced by modern methods.
Soil and climate
The Mediterranean influence from the south and the continental cool from the mountains intertwine in the Vipava Valley into a balance that seems made for the vine. The bora dries the grapes and keeps the vineyards healthy, while the sun ensures full ripeness.
In these conditions our wines are born — fresh, aromatic and full of the character of the valley they come from.
